Sword Transport was honoured to sponsor the first ever Larry Dahlgren Memorial Walleye Tournament in 2018 on Slave Lake through the Spruce Point Park marina near Kinuso, AB.
The tournament was created in memory of their late Uncle and the response not only from the fishing community but also the locals was incredible. It turned out to be a fisherman’s dream as the early season tournament date had the walleye hungry! One of the biggest things attendees noticed was the participation from the locals and also the families who showed up to watch weigh in each day.
In the end, the most rewarding part was seeing everyone enjoying themselves and excited for future tournaments and congratulations was in order for two local fishermen who took home the prize money, Erin Van Hoek and Josh Courtorielle. All remaining proceeds are donated back into the surrounding lake communities by an application.
Sword Transport is proud of the tournament and supporting the community with an event such as this – they are hoping to make this an annual event.
